Who
04:49
|
|||
Wait, I wait, come cloud or clear
Even if every light goes out
I’m still waiting here
Trembling a little
Too little to show
Waiting to behold
What my heart already knows
Who, if I cried out, would hear me?
Who, if I cried out, would hear me?
Around me the wind
Blows angels and clowns
While I wait on the ground
It’s a little like dreaming
You can scream and
Still not make a sound
What turns them around?
Who, if I cried out, would hear me?
Who, if I cried out, would hear me?

03:34
|
|||
Today a year ago
It was very cold
And it snowed
And it snowed
Today
The clock struck that same way
Standing over the grave
And a band played
There should’ve been more people
But it was raining hard
Then it started to snow
Don’t want to think about it
Today it’s warm
It’s slipping away
It was starting to rain, no snow
It was starting to snow
Don’t want to think about it
No
Don’t want to think about it
The clock struck that morning
In just the same way

Last Beautiful Day
06:00
|
|||
Leaving Paris in the rain
It’s getting clearer now
Hollow faces in the rain
Hidden from me now, masks from forgotten plays
My…my only saving grace
My…my only saving grace
Every fact and fraud
Pulsing like the eyes of a God
You won’t believe what I see
Come share it with me
Leaving Paris in the rain
It’s finally clearing now
A dirty face, a gorgeous face
Split at the seams, paper thin and worn away
My…my only saving grace
My…my only saving grace
Every fact and fraud
Pulsing like the eyes of a God
You won’t believe what I see
Come share it with me
No darling, not cold and grey
Behold…
The last beautiful day….
No one, anywhere can answer your questions
No one, anywhere can answer your questions
Given time you’ll forget all of these things
Given time…you’ll forget everything
You won’t believe what I see
Come share it with me
No darling, not cold and grey
Behold…behold
The last beautiful day
You won’t believe what I see
(The last beautiful day….)
Come share it with me
(The last beautiful day….)
No darling, not cold and grey
Behold…
The last beautiful day….

Dissolve
04:33
|
|||
An open window
in a country house
You - you almost stepped out
Just among the trees
See the light change the leaves
Til the sun goes down
And the sun goes down
Streets I chanced upon
You just danced on
And vanished
Lost in the distance
Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve
Chasing the distance
Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve
Your photograph
Fading in my hand
You …
Fading in my fading hand
(In my ever-fading hand)
Your scent upon the breeze
Brings the stars to their knees
As the sun goes down
And the sun goes down
Lost in the distance
Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve
Chasing the distance
Dissolve Dissolve Dissolve

Everything
05:36
|
|||
Sitting here
Drifting back over the days
(Rain taps along the pane)
Every stored up shame and pride
Lit by a million stars that a million years ago died
It’s all behind you now
It’s all behind you now
Where’s everything I love?
Where’s everything I love?
Walking on through all I’ve done
And all that’s still undone
(Not at peace with either one)
When did it start?
Oh I want to step right out of my heart
I want to step right out of my heart
It’s all behind you now
It’s all behind you now
Where’s everything I love?
Where’s everything I love?

For That Girl
05:10
|
|||
(Did you notice me at all?
Did you notice me at all?)
Come with me
share a dream with me
I dream in blue
I dream of you
Used to be
I’d bounce you on my knee
Oh too high to see
How the birds fly
Away….
Not a day goes by
I don’t sigh
For that girl
For that girl
Two passing ships, passing
Two parting lips, laughing
To dream a longing lifetime
(A long and longing life)
Longing for more
More time
More time with you
Come with me
A dream for two
Share a dream with me
I dream in blue
I dream of you
Come with me
A dream for two
Share a dream with me
Watching time crawl
Time on the wall
Watch it crawl
Time’s shadow crawls
Two passing ships, passing
Two parting lips, laughing
To dream a longing lifetime
(A long and longing life)
Longing for more
More time
More time with you
Flying up, up and away
Flying up, up and away
Not a day goes by
I don’t sigh
For that girl
For that girl
Flying up, up and away...

How To Be Cruel
04:33
|
|||
5am
It’s here again
I guess here comes the sun
There’s a shadow in the dark
No one can’t see
But you - the darker part of me
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
At least you survived
And it’s all thanks to you
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
A t least you survived
You taught me how to be cruel
Take it out on you
Take it out on me
Round and round
To dance don’t mean you’re free
Talk about change
Talk is cheap
And cheap’s
More than enough for you and me
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
At least you survived
And it’s all thanks to you
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
A t least you survived
You taught me how to be cruel
I’m glad I’m not you
I’m glad that we’re through
All the time I spent
Wondering how and where I went
Wrong
I know it’s not me
But I feel it must be
So wrong so wrong wrong wrong
Maybe that’s why I
Live each day to defy
The Everest lie
You’d have everyone believe
You see I’m glad I’m not you
Can you say the same about me?
I don’t care if you do
I can’t stop practicing
Your lessons in
How to be cruel
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
At least you survived
And it’s all thanks to you
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
A t least you survived
You taught me how to be cruel
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
At least you survived
And I’ll never forget you
Why you wasting time
Reliving old crimes
At least you survived
At least you survived
And I won’t forget how to be cruel

Hush
04:29
|
|||
The birds of early morning
Are calling
Among the trees
The night is finally dying
On the stone’s ridge
Let’s go on hiding
So I can love you forever
I’ll sleep at your feet
And watch over your dreams
They're close behind us now
Hush, hush, hush
They're close behind us now
Be quiet now
Be quiet now
They’re close behind us now
Hush, hush, hush
Be quiet now
Be quiet now
They're close behind us now
Let's go on hiding
So I can love you forever
Hush, hush, hush, hush

Ten Cherry Trees
04:02
|
|||
This land is good
(This land is good)
But much too lonesome
Tell me what you see
Not one house
Not one tree
This is a wasteland
It’s a wasted land
The vineyard went dry
Every scarlet flower died
The vineyard went dry
Every scarlet flower died
When I die
Sell our house and buy here
All this mountainside
Ten Cherry Trees
The day we were married
We planted ten cherry trees
A thorn in my heart
That little orchard there
Needs a stream
It’s nothing yet
But strong hands will help you sleep
(Sleep in peace)
When I die
Sell our house and buy here
All this mountainside
Ten Cherry Trees
The day we were married
We planted ten cherry trees
Now that little orchard
That little orchard needs a stream
It’s nothing yet
But strong hands will help you sleep
Sleep in peace
Cover it with trees
Cover it with trees

Simon Rider and Ed Charles are Splitting Stations. After meeting online via the Audio Issues Insiders Program (check that
